Hello and welcome

Mean It Club is hosted by the same person who runs the website, ensuring consistency and a familiar presence at every event.
Applications are reviewed by a small team to maintain standards and make thoughtful, unhurried decisions.
The aim is simple: to create well-considered rooms where people feel comfortable showing up as themselves.
About the founder
Mean It Club was founded by me, Alex.
I moved to London over a decade ago and, like most people who’ve lived here long enough, spent a fair amount of time dating - in London and elsewhere. Different cities, same patterns. Some of it was fun, much of it was unnecessarily complicated, and almost all of it was familiar.
What led me to start Mean It Club wasn’t one dramatic moment, but years of listening - to friends, colleagues, and people I trusted - all describing the same frustrations. Dating apps that dragged on. “Almost something” situations. Events that felt louder and more awkward than they needed to be. Everyone seemed tired in the same way.
Outside of this, I work as an architect and graphic designer, and I’m currently training in UX design. Somewhere along the way I also became the organiser of a large group of smart, thoughtful women, many of whom had plenty of dating stories - most involving apps or events that promised more than they delivered.
After enough conversations, it became clear that what people actually wanted was much simpler: a calm, well-considered way to meet others in person, without chaos or pressure.
That’s what Mean It Club is.
A straightforward way for people to meet in a setting that feels human, hosted with care.
The applications, screening, and events are run by me, with support from a small team behind the scenes.
